Chapter 1
The Encounter, The Argument, The Fall
The 25-year old girl, Yan, stood in line waiting for the new Harry Potter book.
"Ruff Ruff!!!," cried Yan's dog, Jack. Jack was running wildly to the bathroom, Yan knew what that meant, Jack had to go potty.
'Sigh... How sad... Too bad Jack needs to go.... Now I have to get outta line and start all over again later.... This sucks..' Yan thought. Just as Yan stepped out of the line, well wanted to, a man stepped right in front of her as if he was going to budge her.
"Hey! I was in line!" Yan cried.
The man wasn't surprised,"Oh....." He said slowly,"Well you were gonna get out of line... So I have the right to budge you, don't I? Or are you going to go and get the police to put me in jail for budging?"
Yan was sooooo mad that he had contradicted her, she walked away.
Yan didn't get the book but later on, she figured out that she had gotten something much, much, better than the book. A person to spend her life with.
The girl was at home, preparing dinner with her aunt, Yinjing, for her cousin May, her dad Ah Yin, and her.
She had no mom because her mom died when she was only 10. Yan's mom had died of cancer. Her family members and her, all are expecting the cancer to pass onto Yan. But there were no signs of it.
When the Chan family were just getting ready to eat, Yan's phone rang.
"Hello?," it was Yan's current boyfriend, Chris Chang.
"Hello? Oh hi Chris!" Yan paused for a while to listen to what Chris was saying.
Yan said,"Yes of course! What....? Ok yes I can! I'll be there in like 10 minutes probably... Ok bye!"
Ah Yin turned around from his chair,"Is that Chris?" He knew that Chris wanted to eat dinner with Yan and he didn't mind. After all Chris is almost his son-in-law.
Yan quickly ran into her shared room with May and grabbed a sweater and her purse. She said bye to her family and walked out of the apartment. Chris was of course every girl's dream guy. And Yan was very proud of him and felt that she was a lucky girl. As Yan walked through the busy streets of Hong Kong, Yan suddenly felt dizzy and had a headache. Then suddenly she felt herself collaspe.
