Fei sat quietly close to the window, waiting for Quin. He was anxious to know what Quin has to tell him.
Quin entered the cafe and sat in front of Fei.
Quin: Sorry I was late.
Fei smiled.
Fei: It's been a long time since I had last waited for you.
Quin ignored Fei's comment.
Quin: The reason I called you here today is because of Chin Chin.
Fei: Chin Chin?
Quin: Yes. She left me a letter while I was away.
Fei: What did the letter say?
Quin: No matter what the letter said, I think you should go find Chin Chin.
Fei: Let me guess, Chin Chin told you that the one I love is you.
Quin remained silent.
Fei: As I've mentioned to you before, Chin Chin left me a letter before she left. In that letter, Chin Chin told me that she doesn't want the two of us (Fei and Quin) to continue running away from the truth anymore. Chin Chin told me not to go look for her.
Quin: Just because Chin Chin tells you not to look for her, doesn't mean you can't go look for her. Chin Chin really loves you. You know that!
Fei: I know I owe Chin Chin a lot. I once wanted to try to make it up to her by trying to love her again, but I can't.
Quin: What do you mean you can't?
Fei: It the past two years, I wanted to provide all the best to Chin Chin, I wanted her to be happy. I had believed that Chin Chin was happy in those years. It wasn't until I read Chin Chin's letter did I realize that...Chin Chin was not happy at all, because I could not provide her with the thing she wants the most. I've tried, I really did try. But I can't give her my love. Even when I'm with her, the person I have in my mind is you.
Quin: How can you be so cruel to her? She sacrificed everything for you. You shouldn't have a problem loving her!
Fei: I know Chin Chin sacrificed everything for me, and I really wanted to do something for her! But...I just...can't love her like before! I know very well the one I love is you. Chin Chin was right, I can't run away from the truth. It wasn't fair for neither me or Chin Chin if I continue to lie to myself.
A drop of tear ran down the corner of Quin's eyes.
Quin: It's my fault, if it wasn't for my interference, then all the problems would be solved.
Fei took a hold of Quin's hands.
Fei: No. It's not. If someone has to be blamed to this, then the person should be me. It all because of me. If I had not angered Cheng Dong Shing (played by Roger Kwok Chun On in Detective Investigation Files IV), then he wouldn't have taken Chin Chin as hostage. None of this would have happened.
Quin: It wasn't your fault. As a police, you had to capture Cheng Dong Shing.
Fei nodded.
Fei: I owe Chin Chin my life, and I am willing to give my life to her. I just can't force myself to love someone I don't love. If Chin Chin comes back, I will be willing to take care of her, as a brother, but not as a lover.
Quin nodded.
Fei: What about us?
Quin: What about us?
Fei: I can't let you leave me again. Don't run away anymore.
Quin: I don't know Fei...
Fei: I brought the house.
Quin: The house?
Fei: The house where I proposed to you.
Quin: Chin Chin said that you kept everything I gave you in the house...
Fei: I did, I kept everything.
Quin couldn't hold in her tears anymore.
Fei: So?
Quin: So what?
Fei: Are you willing to give me one last chance? Marry me.
Quin nodded.
