“Those are all just excuses!” He screamed as he threw the glass bottle onto the cold and wet ground. It immediately shattered into thousands of pieces, but it did not take any one of us surprised. We just stood there, the rain quietly soaked into our clothing. “You’re just saying that because you never loved me! You did this all for money, didn’t you?” He asked, his face pained and his voice hoarse. I’ve never seen him like this, never seen him with such a pained expression, and never with such a great aggression. It wasn’t that I couldn’t answer his question, I didn’t know how. What was I supposed to tell him? I’m not supposed to help you cheat on your girlfriend? I turned away, not knowing how to express my feelings, and tell him the truth. “So you’re giving me the silent treatment now?” He placed both his hands on his waist, and turned away from me. “I never want to see you again.” He mumbled under his breath before he walked out of the little alley we once called our ‘secret base’. Not once did he turn back to look at me; I knew I had lost him forever. Kim Kangin –my forever one and only love.

“Aish!” I yelled as I threw my cell phone against my bed. How could he forget his clothes at a time like this? Who in the right mind would forget his clothes at home when you have a dorm with twelve other band mates/roommates to remind you?

“I forgot, alright?” He defended moments earlier. “It’s really important for this performance… Please… I beg you, just once. This is the last time, okay? Aren’t you going to help your older brother?” I sighed as I stomped into his room and grabbed bag filled with his designer clothes. I quickly ran back into my room, grabbed my jacket, and left my stuffy little apartment into the fresh air. Carrying my brother’s bag, I skipped down the street, swirling for a couple of seconds before continuing to skip down the busy neighborhood. I never quite understood why my brother chose to become a celebrity; I found the job scary, and something that would expose your entire life to the world. I’ve always had an interest in singing, but not once did I try and audition for SM Entertainment, or any of the other agencies in the city –there was completely no way I was becoming a celebrity, and the best way to avoid it, was to not audition at all. After another ten minutes of walking, I finally arrived at the big doors of my brother’s entertainment agency –the slave company as I called it; SM Entertainment. I walked to the front desk, and continued to stand there till the lady looked at me.

“How may I help you mam?” She asked while glancing up from her computer screen to me.

“I’m looking for Kim Heechul; I’m his sister, Kim Sunjung.” I replied as I slightly bowed my head in respect.

“Oh!” She screamed as she got up from her desk, and came to the other side to greet me. “Heechul had informed me of your arrival today; please do come along with me.” I followed her up the staircase, into a long set of hallways and she finally ceased her footsteps when we reached a black door. “They’re practicing their dance for tonight’s performance.” She explained as she slightly opened the door. “Feel free to watch, but please don’t disturb them –the manager gets really stressed about people coming in when they’re practicing. He doesn’t want them distracted.” I nodded as I left the lady in the hallway, and went ahead to push the door to step inside. The air was fresh –a bit—the room being ventilated by fans so that the band members wouldn’t get too hot when they practice. Sighing, I took a seat on the far edge of the wall as I watched them practice. It was when I saw him did my eyes down cast on the polished wooden dance floor.

“No…” I mumbled as I continued to look at the brown polished floor. I had totally forgotten that he was my brother’s band mate… and I was stupid enough to come up here –now I would have to face him.

“Hey.” Yesung waved as he walked towards me. I smiled as I stood up to greet him. “It’s been a long time, Sunjung, hasn’t it?” I nodded.

“It has…” I mumbled. The last time I’d seen him had probably been a year ago –when I had accidently run into him while shopping for groceries. The whole conversation that had spurred up between the two of us had turned into an extremely awkward one; he had accidently asked about my relationship with Kangin. I remember looking away, making an excuse of running short on time, and pushing the shopping cart out to the cashier to pay for all the food that I had in that cart.

“Come to see Kang—“He paused, knowing he had said something wrong. “Heechul?” Yesung asked as he mentally wiped his forehead of sweat. I smiled.

“He forgot his clothes for tonight’s performance.” I explained. We stayed silent for a few awkward seconds, before he got up and joined his group in the dance again. I’ve got to admit, Yesung was a very nice person. Years before, he had helped me and Kangin realize our feelings for each other, and well… the rest… I sighed as I looked up at Kangin. I had left him years ago because I didn’t want to get involved with the paparazzi, I was afraid. Kangin was never the most popular one in the group of Super Junior –made of purely 13 flower boys—but he had always had this thing with rumors, and at that time, it happened to be Lee YeonHee. Nobody had known of our relationship except for the Super Junior members, and a few of the Girls’ Generation. I hated being involved with the paparazzi –and losing my privacy was just something they’d be more than happy in getting involved with. I asked myself at the time whether I should really continue living this life in fear of being found by the paparazzi, that my relationship will be exposed in the public and cause Kangin to lose his popularity. I chose to be selfish, and walk away from all of this. I still remember the way he had walked away from me that night –where I realized that he’ll never look at me again.

“Thanks.” Heechul mumbled as he grabbed the designer bag and towered above me. After several moments, he asked: “Are you going to leave, or stay here and watch us?” He asked. I couldn’t quite make out whether he was asking me to leave in a kind way, or really wanting me to stay here and watch them practice.

“Is there really a difference?” I asked while looking at my brother.

“Well, if you stay, I’ll treat you to dinner tonight –since I’ll be treating the boys anyways.” I nodded.

“I’ll stay here and wait for you guys to finish.” Heechul smiled –something I haven’t seen in a long time. “Alright, you go and hang out somewhere while we practice alright? I’ll call you when we finish.” I nodded before walking out into the lobby in search or someone to talk to.
Sitting at the couch for who knows how long, I wait, wondering when they’ll actually finish and come out. It was then did I spot Lee Yeonhee taking a seat on the couch beside me. “I haven’t seen you here in a long time.” She commented while smiling at me. I tried to smile back; the past few times I had met her was not that pleasant. Yeonhee had always despised me due to my lack of beauty and still being able to steal Kangin away from her.

“I was busy.” I mumbled as I looked away.

“You got back with Kangin yet?” She asked. This question surprised me. Since when did she care whether I’ve got back with Kangin yet or not? “Kangin’s a nice guy, and he’s been pretty down since—“

“You don’t have to tell me.” I interrupted, refusing to let her say anymore. “Whatever has to do with him isn’t important to me anymore.”

“Is it now?” She asked in suspicion. “I heard a few days earlier that you left him not because you didn’t love him anymore, but because of—“

“Why do you even care why I left him?” I asked, angry. “It’s none of your business.”

“Not my business? Do you know how he felt after you broke up with him? You left him defenseless –he was just at the point of giving up his whole career just so that he could be with you again.” I turned away, remembering the excuse I had made in order to break up with him; I did not like his career.

“So?” I asked as I tried to hold in the tears that filled my eyes.

“I know you didn’t leave him for that reason.” She said. “You wouldn’t be that kind of person.”

“What’s your point?”

“You left him because you didn’t want any negative changes in his popularity in his career, correct?” At that moment, both she and I heard the sounds of something dropping, and turned behind to look. It was Kangin, dropping his gym bag and looking at me.

“Was that why you left me?” He asked, his voice almost a whisper. I turned away, once again not knowing how to answer his questions. “That was why you left me, right?” I didn’t answer. In a spilt second, he came towards me, grabbed my wrist, and pulled me out of the agency building. He pulled me as if I was a little doll that had completely no feelings whatsoever to the garden outside. It was there where he let go of my now reddened wrist, and push me against the wall. “Tell me, why did you leave me?” He asked.

“It wouldn’t make a difference telling you now, would it?” I asked as the tears began running down my cheeks. “It’s been so long—“

“I don’t care how long it’s been!” He shouted, looking completely useless. “Just tell me, won’t you?”

“I left you because I didn’t want to endanger your career. I knew if I told you the truth, you’d never let go; I only had one choice.”

“To break up with me?” He asked in disbelief. I nodded before turning away again. He took my face with his hands and turned me so that I was facing him. “You do know that breaking up with me wouldn’t change my feelings for you, right?” I tried to look away, but he put me back into my original position. “Do you still love me?” He asked, his eyes pleading. I closed my eyes for a brief moment, wondering how I should reply his question. “Just tell me the truth.” He said, not waiting for my answer.

“I do.” I said as tears ran down my cheeks again. “I do. I’ve always liked you—“ His lips claimed mine that moment, and all that had happened for the past year seemed as if it was just yesterday –the break up, the pain, the tears…But all I that I felt now, at this very moment was none of that. It was bliss; happiness. And I knew that I would never feel anything else when being with him–my forever one and only love.
